History of the Wedding Bouquet
The wedding bouquet is a traditional item seen in most weddings. While researching the history of the bouquet, I found out originally brides carried herbs and spices to ward off evil spirits and bad luck. This eventually changed to flowers. Flower bouquets are believed to be carried as a sign of new beginnings.
What are the Most Popular Wedding Bouquet Flowers?
I wondered what the most popular wedding bouquet flower was. I carried roses during my wedding, but that's because I've always loved roses. Brides may pick flowers for different reasons even to match the season or a specific color theme. Brides.com and TheKnot.com both showed list of the top 10 wedding bouquet flowers. Roses made the top of both lists!

How to Preserve Wedding Flowers?
Some of the bouquets you will see below are not real flowers. (Yes I was shocked when I found out because they looked so real to me too...lol.) Some brides will choose to do artificial flowers in order to preserve their bouquets. However, there are many ways to preserve real flowers as well as hanging them upside down and letting them air dry or having them pressed. You can also have them preserved and mounted in a shadow box or a dome.

Below are a few wedding bouquet ideas and pictures from my 2018 weddings. Also see previous blog post on wedding cake ideas.
